This Privacy Policy applies to Forkast, published by TBA WESTCOAST LLC under the Arbor Intelligence brand. Forkast turns photos of food in your fridge, freezer, or pantry into recipe suggestions.
Forkast has no login screen and does not require your name, email address, or phone number. It creates an anonymous account on first launch so your preferences, scan history, and subscription status can work across the app.
Information we collect
- An anonymous account identifier that is not tied to your name, email address, phone number, or other direct personal identifier.
- Fridge, freezer, and pantry photos you choose to submit for a scan.
- Scan results, identified ingredients, generated recipes, cooked or saved status, preferences, and basic product-interaction data needed to operate and improve the app.
- Subscription status supplied by Apple and RevenueCat, such as whether Forkast Pro is active, expired, or restored. We do not receive or store your payment-card details.
How photos and scan data are used
Submitted food photos are uploaded through Supabase and sent to Anthropic for the single purpose of identifying ingredients and generating recipe suggestions. Forkast deletes the uploaded photos after processing and does not retain them as part of your scan history.
Scan results and app preferences are stored with your anonymous account so the app can show history, tailor recipes, enforce free-scan limits, and unlock paid features.
What we do not do
- We do not run ads in Forkast.
- We do not track you across other companies' apps or websites.
- We do not sell your personal information.
- We do not use your photos to train AI models beyond the scan for which they were submitted.
Service providers
- Supabase hosts the database, anonymous authentication, edge functions, and temporary photo storage used during processing.
- Anthropic analyzes submitted food photos and generates ingredient and recipe results.
- Apple processes App Store payments. RevenueCat manages subscription status tied to the anonymous account so Forkast can unlock Pro features.
Data retention and deletion
Food photos are deleted after scan processing. Scan history, preferences, and anonymous account data remain until you delete the account from inside Forkast.
To delete your account, open Profile, scroll to Account, and choose Delete account. After confirmation, Forkast permanently deletes the anonymous account and associated server data. Uninstalling the app alone does not send an account-deletion request.
Your privacy rights
Depending on where you live, you may have rights to access, correct, delete, restrict, or export personal information. All users can delete their anonymous account in the app. We do not sell personal information or use it for cross-app tracking.
Children, security, and changes
Forkast is not directed at children under 13, and we do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13.
We use encrypted connections and access controls supplied by our infrastructure providers. No system can guarantee absolute security.
We may update this policy as Forkast changes. The effective date above identifies the current version.
